		<description>I whole-heartedly agree.  MP3 is definitely not the best format for storing music, although it is one of the smallest.

Comparing MP3 and FLAC is like comparing JPEG and PNG.  You can choose either small size or quality, but not both.</description>

		<description>The biggest issue with lossy formats, particularly MP3 because of its popularity is music which has bean compressed at a very low bit rate(64 kbps or less). At these low bit rates the compression artefacts do become noticeable, and can be annoying. Some very common artefacts are high pitched notes sounding `dull&#039; and long ringing sounds, i.e. symbols, sound distorted.

At lower bit rates the vorbis codec produces less noticeable artefacts, But if you have the storage to sere, a compressed lossless format like FLAC will is a better option, as it doesn&#039;t suffer from generation loss like lossy formats do.</description>
