The Urge to Create

urge

The urge to create is a painful urge. I know quite a few designers who, like me, suffer from this. It is when we can visualise something amazing, beautiful, touching, heart-warming, cold, dark, humourous, slightly sarcastic, provoking, and so damned influential – but we just cannot create it. We cannot share the vision. We cannot express nor even get a clear pencil sketch.

I have deleted the rest of this post, despite the word count nearing several thousand.

writer’s block?

Though I cannot honestly say that I have experienced writer’s block, I would say this is not much a block as an immense craving and feeling of dissatisfaction.

The reason I deleted the rest of the post was because it was simply incapable of describing certain situations, and after reading through it I realised I had used some personal examples and things I’ve experienced that I considered too private to tell other people freely.

perhaps you’ve misunderstood what i meant.

what i simply meant was that ‘writer’s block’ too, is a symptom of the inability to respond to “the urge to create”(in this case, a written piece),as how i could relate as a writer.
nevertheless,i think all blocks that occur(regardless in the field of writing or designing etc)are somewhat temporary, don’t you think so?

Well, like I said earlier on, I don’t know much about writer’s block, but all I know is that for this it recurs quite often and only affects certain type of people.
